Bratwurst on the Weber Q1200
Bratwurst are simmered in an aromatic beer bath for 15-20 minutes before being finished directly on the grill.
- 5 bratwurst
- 2 12 oz cans of beer
- 1 large onion
- 1 large red bell pepper
Slice the onion and red pepper
Add the onions and peppers to a 10 inch foil pan with the two cans of beer.
Place the foil pan on the grill on "High" and bring the beer to a simmer.
Once the beer simmers reduce the heat to "Low" and let the onions and peppers cook in the beer for 15 minutes.
Add the bratwurst to the foil pan and let them poach in the beer for 15-20 minutes until an internal temperature of 165F.
Remove the brats from the beer bath and cook directly on the grill grate for 3-4 minutes to put color on the sausage.
Serve with a warm burn and brown mustard.
