If your Dad loves to grill and does not yet own a set of GrillGrate panels then stop reading right now and buy him a set. You are officially done shopping.
GrillGrate Panels will completely transform your Dad’s grill game.
GrillGrates are perforated and ridged sheets of black anodized aluminum that have three HUGE benefits.
- They eliminate flare ups. Imagine how much he will love grilling with no flare ups!
- They work as infrared emitter plates and help the grill run hotter. A slick trick for any grill!
- The give absolutely crazy grill marks.
GrillGrate Panels are standard equipment for almost every single competition team at Steak Championship Association Cookoffs because they work that dang well. Here is a video from the 2015 World Championship Steak winner showing how he cooks the perfect ribeye. GrillGrates are an essential part of his technique.
Buy your Dad some GrillGrate panels and then ask him to grill a burger with them directly over high heat. He will be hooked.
17 inch Blackstone Griddle
Here is a fun gift that will surprise your Dad and won’t break the bank!
The portable 17 inch Blackstone griddle is a great little griddle that he can set up on the porch and use for making killer breakfasts. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage and even pancakes are fun and easy to cook on this griddle. Of course he can also use it to make awesome stir fries, smash burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, etc.
The small griddle makes a nice gift because it doesn’t take up much space but is still big and fun enough to use on a regular basis. I don’t know of a single guy that loves to grill who wouldn’t also love having an outdoor griddle.
Some Great Barbecue Books
There are a ton of barbecue books out there that your Dad would enjoy owning. Franklin’s Meat Smoking Manifesto is pretty nice. I am also a huge fan of Paul Kirk’s Championship Barbecue.
The two barbecue books that I absolutely love and strongly recommend are:
- Peace, Love and Barbecue by Mike and Amy Mills
- Legends of Texas Barbecue by Mike Walsh
Both of these books are beautifully written and full of wonderful stories. For me the recipes are simply a bonus. I have read these books cover to cover multiple times.
Absolutely Amazing Steaks
Snake River Farms sells some of the best steaks in the world. The steaks come from American Wagyu cattle that are much, much better than USDA Prime beef.
The steaks are expensive and I could never justify buying them for myself but I was excited and happy to buy them for my Dad last Christmas. I think my Dad had fun telling people what he had gotten and it was a great reason for us to get together for a special dinner.
Get your Dad a few Wagyu ribeyes, Porterhouse or even a couple of Tomahawks! You could try a few specialty steaks like picanha or a ribeye cap.
These steaks are special and so is your Dad.
Here is a curveball you could throw your Dad. He will be surprised as heck when he gets a shipment of Lobster delivered to his door!
The folks at LobsterAnywhere offer overnight shipping on fresh caught Maine lobsters. You can get him some monster lobster tails for the grill or have a couple of Whole Live Lobsters delivered. They even have a special on a four course seafood dinner.
Grill Masters Club
The Grill Master’s Club is a subscription service that send a new box of barbecue goodies every month. Each box contains a new selection of dry rubs, sauces, wood chips, etc.
You can sign your Dad up for just a few months or even a whole year. The nice thing about the yearly subscription is that it makes your Father’s day gift last a long time. You will have something fun to talk about every month when the new box shows up.
BBQ Box is extremely similar to the Grill Master’s Club. This is another subscription service that will send your Dad a new box of barbecue goodies every month.
Carnivore Club is a cool idea for meat lovers in general. They have monthly subscription services and gift ideas for one time purchases.
Carnivore Club sources premium cured meats (Salamis, Bresaola, Soppressata, Jerky, etc) that you would have a hard time finding locally. If your Dad is a serious meat lover then the folks at Carnivore Club will have a great gift for him.
One of my favorite gift ideas from Carnivore Club is the Exotic Jerky Bouquet. The Jerky Bouquet consists of 20 Long Stem Jerky Stick “roses”. There are five different flavors of jerky sticks and they are made from Venison, Elk and Buffalo.

Give your Dad a little protection from grease splatters and a place to wipe his hands 🙂 It never hurts to look stylish while your grilling and some of these aprons will even make your Dad look like a professional!
Pizza Making Gear!
If your Dad is into outdoor cooking then I know he would love to try making pizzas in his backyard! You can get him a full blown outdoor pizza oven or just the gear to convert his grill into a pizza making machine.
Here are a few ideas for stand alone outdoor pizza ovens:
Here are some supplies to help your Dad make pizzas on his current gas or charcoal grill.
BBQ and Grilling Gift Baskets
Last but not least on the list of great ideas to get your dad is a nice gift basket of barbecue supplies!
The Kosmos Q gift set is from the guy in the video above that won the 2015 World Steak Championship. These are his special seasonings that he uses in his grilling and barbecue competitions.
The ManCrate gift basket is a little pricey for what you get but is designed to be a great gift experience.
