Crab Cakes on the Griddle

Griddled Crab Cakes in Butter

I am falling in love with using my new cast iron griddle on my Weber grills.  These crab cakes are one more reason why!

Crab Cake Recipe

  • 1 pound crab claw meat
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp seafood seasoning (Old Bay, etc)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbls chopped parsley

Mix the mayo, egg, mustard, lemon juice and seafood seasoning together and then gently blend the mixture into the crab meat.  Add the breadcrumbs and parsley to the mix and gently fold together.  You will have a loose mix at this point.

Let the crab cake mixture rest in the fridge for a couple hours to firm up. Use about a third of a cup of the mixture and form into patties.  This recipe made 7 crab cakes.

I preheated my cast iron griddle on my Weber Silver on Medium heat for 15 minutes, added a little butter and started grilling these guys up.

Four minutes per side.

After the patties were flipped I added a little more butter to the top of the crab cakes while they finished grilling.

Serve these up with some fresh lemon and you’ve got yourself something pretty awesome.

By the way, if you have one or two left over they reheat well to make an awesome breakfast 🙂

Now get out there and keep grilling!
