The barbecue market is overflowing with crappy little two burner grills and finding the few gems that exist can be challenging. Let me walk you though the best 2 burner grills currently available so you can buy a serious grilling machine for your patio.
I am not going to waste your time talking about the cheap two burners from Dyna Glo and NexGrill that are designed to sell in large volumes at the Big Box stores. Instead we are going to be looking at seven grills that range from “Good” to “Freaking Awesome“.
Char Broil Tru Infrared Grill: Best Budget Friendly Option
I know that a least a few of the people who find this article will be looking for a two burner grill because they are on a strict budget. While I am not a fan of budget grills that have to be replaced every few years I do understand why folks are in this market.
The best budget friendly two burner that I recommend is the Char Broil Tru Infrared. If you are shopping at a Big Box store then these are sold as the “Commercial Series”. If you are shopping online then these are sold as the “Signature Series”.
The Tru Infrared system utilizes a perforated steel plate directly under the cooking grate as an infrared emitter. This is the most affordable infrared grilling system available. In general, infrared grills get hotter faster and, since they cook with infrared energy instead of circulating hot air, food stays juicier.
The Char Grill Tru Infrared grills get great reviews as far as performance is concerned. The only real issue about these grills is that they are going to get pretty rusty in a year or two simply because of the build materials used to make these grill so affordable.
Char Broil Two Burner Tru Infrared Specifications
- Grilling Space: 325 square inches
- Burners: Two burners each rated at 9,000 BTU/hr (18,000 Total BTUs)

- Width: 31 inches with both side tables folded down.

The snapshot of the reviews off of the Char Broil website is about what you would expect for a budget friendly grill. The grill works pretty good, has rust issues and little things like the thermometer start breaking after a year.
Weber Grills: Four High Quality Options
Weber has four different 2 burner grills that vary wildly in features and price. I suspect that most people are going to find the grill they want somewhere in this mix.
Weber Q3200
The Weber Q3200 is the only two burner grill in the Q series as well as being the only Weber Q adaptable to natural gas. The Q3200 is a sleek grill made of cast aluminum. The Q series are very popular for use in coastal areas or by backyard pools where corrosive salts would eat up the steel construction on most standard grills.
Q3200 Specifications
- Grilling Space: 393 square inches
- Burners: Two burners with a combined rating of 21,700 BTU/hr
- Grates: Porcelain enameled cast iron
- Width: 37 inches with both side tables removed.
- Fuel: Propane or Natural Gas
- Warranty: 5 years on grate, burners, cook box and lid.
The snapshot of the Q3200 reviews from Weber’s website shows the grill has a 4.7 star rating and that 98% of owners would recommend the grill.
Spirit II E 210
The Spirit II E 210 is the two burner grill that most people end up buying as it is the best mix of quality, performance and value. If you don’t really want “The Best Grill Available” but are actually looking for a “Really Good Grill That I Can Afford” then this is the grill that you want. This grill is available in four beautiful colors.
Spirit II E 210 Specifications
- Grilling Space: 360 square inches
- Burners: Two burners with a combined rating of 26,500 BTU/hr
- Grates: Porcelain enameled cast iron
- Width: 48 inches. Left side table can fold down to save more space.
- Fuel: Propane or Natural Gas
- Warranty: 10 years on all components
The snapshot of the Spirit II 210 reviews from Weber’s website shows the grill has a 4.8 star rating and that 97% of owners would recommend the grill.
Genesis II E 210 (Discontinued)
The Genesis II E 210 is spectacular grill that is stuck in the middle. The Weber Spirit vs Genesis comparison is not as meaningful as it once was not that the two series have identical build quality and construction.
The Genesis II E 210 has minor styling differences and is slightly larger than the Spirit II E 210 but costs quite a bit more. The Genesis II E 210 is a wonderful grill but the Spirit II E 210 is a better value while the Genesis II LX S 240 is more spectacular. It sucks to be the middle child.
Genesis II E 210 Specifications
- Grilling Space: 380 square inches
- Burners: Two burners with a combined rating of 26,000 BTU/hr
- Grates: Porcelain enameled cast iron
- Width: 47 inches.
- Fuel: Propane or Natural Gas
- Warranty: 10 years on all components
The snapshot of the Genesis II E 210 reviews from Weber’s website shows the grill has a 4.8 star rating and that 99% of owners would recommend the grill.
Genesis II LX S 240 (Discontinued)
The Genesis II LX S 240 is, without a doubt, the nicest and prettiest two burner offered by Weber. However, this beautiful grill comes with a price tag that is out of the budget of a lot of folks.
The Genesis II LX S 240 is the same size as the Genesis II E 210 but has more powerful burners and comes with the following upgrades:
- Side burner
- Lighted control knobs
- Handle mounted grill light
- LED propane level gauge
- Stainless steel shroud
- Stainless steel rod grilling grate
- Stainless steel Flavorizer bars
- Enclosed lower cabinet
Other than the side burner, there isn’t much difference in the quality and performance between the Spirit and either Genesis model. This one just happens to be far and away the prettiest!
The snapshot of the Genesis II LX S 240 reviews from Weber’s website shows the grill has a 4.6 star rating and that 100% of owners would recommend the grill.
Solaire Infrared Grill
If you like the idea of infrared grilling but want something nicer than the Char Broil then take a look at the two burner, 100% infrared grills from Solaire. Solaire makes some of the best infrared grills in the world and describes their products as the muscle car of grills that have a rocket under the hood.
Solaire grills use ceramic infrared burners that reach temperatures up to 900F. The infrared burners can easily be swapped out for traditional convection burners (sold separately) if you want to have one side of your grill for use at low temperatures while having rocket powered searing ability on the other.
Solaire grills are true stainless steel and come with a limited lifetime warranty so while you pay a premium on the initial purchase you can rest easy knowing that this grill will last for decades. The Deluxe model comes with a rotisserie kit and a dedicated rear mounted infrared rotisserie burner. The Standard model does not have the rotisserie.
Lynx Grill
I couldn’t write an article on the best 2 burner grills without including the Lynx. Lynx defines beauty and they proudly claim that they make the World’s Best Grills.
I will let Lynx tell you about their grills in the video below.
This 30 inch two burner grill comes with the Pro Sear burner and rotisserie kit with a dedicated infrared rotisserie burner.
